Alright, its something that’s been bugging a lot of us: tattoos at work. It’s 2024, and you’d think we’d be past judging people by their ink, but here we are. This isn’t your grandad’s lecture on professionalism, Gen X, get out of the way

They keep discriminating against tattooed…Millennials and Gen z’s
First off, why are so many workplaces stuck on these ancient dress code policies?
They’re all about “maintaining a professional image,” but they’re out of touch with professionalism in 2024.

If you’ve got some art on your skin, suddenly you’re not “professional” enough?
Hey, love the resume, but that sleeve tattoo? Not in this office, buddy.”
It’s wild that in an age where everyone’s preaching about individuality, tattoos still get you stereotyped. It is out of touch and it’s costing talented people opportunities because they chose to rock some body art.
Not all hope is lost, though. There are companies out there that get it. They’re all about judging you for your work, not your tattoos. These places are proving that you can be a top-notch professional and still show off your ink. It’s a breath of fresh air and a sign that maybe, just maybe, the rest of the corporate world might catch up someday.

Hearing stories from those who’ve been there is eye-opening. Some have had to hide their tattoos in job interviews or deal with awkward stares in meetings, some went as far as having to cover their tattoos daily with makeup
But then there are those moments of victory, where someone lands a great job and doesn’t have to cover up who they are. These stories aren’t just about tattoos; they’re about the fight for individualism to be,”truly” embraced.
We are in the beginning or somewhere between there and the middle of a generational culture shift. The world is changing and so must you.
A world where your skills and what you bring to the table is how your value is measured , not by your appearance.
It’s about respect, diversity, and getting with the times.
